TONY PANTANO
Tony was born in Messina, Italy and came to Australia at the age of
eight. He began appearing with groups when he was fifteen years old and
performed in Melbourne clubs and restaurants.
After winning various national talent quests he began his career as a
solo performer and rapidly gained acceptance for club and television
appearances.
In 1971 he won the "Bandstand" National television award as "Beat Male
Singer" and the Italian Song Festival for the "Moat Popular Italian
Singer in Australia". His first records were released and gained
positions in radio charts throughout the country.
In 1972 he returned to Italy and toured Europe where he appeared for a
three-month season at the Olympia Theatre, Paris. He then appeared in a
European Song Festival in Italy, winning the first prize and special
award for "The Moat Popular Singer".
Since his return from Europe Tony has been performing regularly in
Clubs, hotels, concerts and on national television shows where by
popularity as a performer and record artiste continues to grow. |
