To give that next home cooked Italian dinner the right
musical background and atmosphere, we have concocted most versatile
musical menu with original Italian and Neapolitan songs featuring
outstanding artists who's talents and personalities will be projected by
this Colonial HI-FI L.P. album. All selections have a true Italian or
local Neapolitan flavor and are not the "here today and gone tomorrow"
type of songs, but melodies which have achieved a measure of permanent
value. The A-side presents wits No. 1, a song which was made famous by
the great tenor Tito Schipa "COMME FACETTE MAMMETA" well performed on
this COLONIAL HI-FI LP by the charming Anna Coraggio. Another Neapolitan
sang is rendered by the popular tenor Ralph Pedi "N'ORA 'E FELICITA".
Next, n so called "high" Italian, we hear voices blended in the
appealing duet "NON PIANGERE PERCHE". One of the most famous Italian
mother songs of all times is "MAMMA" sung with great feeling and
understanding by Anna Coraggio. To add variety v e next hear
Bellantoni's original Sicilian "TARANTELLA MERIDIONALE" :end Tenor Piero
Lovati gives us a unique musical picture in the sung "CAROSELL,D". Do
gentlemen prefer blondes? Wei: the text content of our male duet singing
"LA BIONDA E LA BRUNA" NON SONO PER ME, gives us the answer, blonde or
brunette, who cares. This is also sung in Italian as is Enzo di Mola and
chorus' version of "YOU-KE-LEE, YOU-KE-LA".Our prima donna Anna Coraggio
returns to the Colonial stage in a tender ballad "VOCE E NOTTE" and
changing scenes, we listens once again to our male duet in the Italian
chanson "IL CACCIATOR". To conclude our musical Italian and Neapolitan
menu we offer after numerous well served courses for desert "LUNA
NAPOLITANA" in which song Anna Coraggio tells us about the romantic
moonlight over Naples. The pleasing tenor of Piero Lovati gives us his
interpretation of "IO CANTO". It is Finale curtain time for "CANZONETTE
ITALIANE" and as our artists take a bow, you may. look for encores in
our catalogue. Thank you!
