| "THE MAGIC ZUFOLO" — the
name given to a simple bamboo flute by Nadia Grey, one of Europe's most
popular movie stars — is an instrument that is truly "magic" in the
hands of Joe Castellana, transforming him into a veritable modern day
"Pied Piper". This simple musical instrument, which was used as long ago
as 2000 B.C. by simple shepherds, received the above title in Rome in
1957 when Joe was presented with a silver medal and a certificate of
honour dubbing him the "King of the Zufolo" after a tumultuous
performance in the studios of Rome Television. To understand Joe, one only has to listen to his music, which reflects his humility and his modesty as well as his prime ambition in life — to bring happiness to as many people as he can by way of his music, and to teach the younger people of today that happiness may be found if one looks and is prepared to work for it. He firmly believes that music really does make the world go 'round. Joe is hardly a novice to the musical world. His performances range from Italy to Canada, and from the Sydney Opera House and the Festivals in Adelaide to various concerts in Brisbane which he has made home.
